Women 40+ Are Missing Strength Training Benefits. This New Platform Aims to Help
Chicago, United States - January 29, 2026 / Amanda Boike Fitness /
CHICAGO— Amanda Boike Fitness, a Chicago-based personal training practice, announced the launch of Amanda Boike Fitness Online, a strength-training platform for women 40 and older who are new to resistance training. The program uses follow-along dumbbell workouts and coaching cues to help participants build strength gradually and apply it to everyday tasks.
The launch comes as public health guidance continues to emphasize strength training as a key part of healthy aging - and as participation remains low. In 2022, 22.5% of U.S. adults ages 25 and older met federal guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity, according to the CDC.
Why this matters now
NIH health information notes that starting around age 30, the body naturally begins losing muscle mass - commonly estimated at about 3% to 5% per decade - and that the long-term result can be reduced strength that affects daily function over time.
The NIH National Institute on Aging recommends doing muscle-strengthening activities at least two days per week, working major muscle groups, allowing recovery between sessions, and progressing from no-weight movements to added resistance as comfort and skill improve.
What the platform is designed to do
Amanda Boike Fitness Online is designed to reduce common barriers for women starting strength training in midlife: uncertainty about what to do, how hard to work, and how to progress safely. Workouts include instruction on form and options to adjust range of motion and difficulty, with a consistent weekly structure intended to support follow-through.
Early participant experience
In a public online review, a longtime client in her 60s who works a physically demanding job described steady progress without setbacks and said the coaching helped her train consistently even when knee discomfort required modifications. The client stated, "\[Amanda] is really changing my sense of what is possible in terms of thriving as I get older."
